OOC PREFERENCES:
•CONTACT METHOD: yarnzipan @ plurk
•THREAD-JACKING: go for it
•FOURTH WALLING / CANON PUNCTURE: It's a-okay for someone to introduce the idea to her that she's fictional. Her relationship with narrative and authorship etc. is COMPLICATED. In certain ways, she's partially her own writer, in other ways her partner is her writer, and in other other ways, her story was written by a mystery writer who's been missing for 13 years.
•BACKTAGGING: I live in them
•AVOIDED TOPICS: If you're going to gaslight my character, I NEED you to talk to me. IC gaslighting I can deal with, OOC gaslighting not so much.
•PREFERRED GENDER PRONOUN: she/they
IC CHARACTERISTICS:
•CURRENT CANON POINT: Just past the Final Draft ending of her canon.
•PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Saga is an average height mixed race woman with long hair, almost always found in a ponytail, usually found in practical clothing with a gun and a flashlight. She runs on the lean side but she's stronger than she looks and pretty damn good at dodging. Her scent is probably a little bit antiseptic (she's done autopsies in canon) with a softer wooly scent to cut it, not to mention a hint of coffee since she lives on it. Speech-wise, she has no specific accent beyond 'American' though we know she lives in Virginia at this point.
•DEMEANOR: Friendly, attentive, and when On The Job, intense and no-nonsense.
•ABILITIES: She is a mom. She is an FBI agent. She is an awesome partner.
POWER-wise: there is a whole-ass post on it.
•MEDICAL INFORMATION: Because she is a video game hero, she can heal from a variety of sources, including bandages and painkillers.
What is she? Possibly normal human? Possibly demi-god? Possibly time shifter/reality jumper/whatever? IT IS A MYSTERY. If you're a normal human, she's probably going to read pretty normal to you but if you have any supernatural senses whatsoever, she's going to probably weird you out. Common imagery you might see:
•OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS: Anything threatening her daughter or her husband is going to get a HARD eye and an immediate shutdown.
IC PERMISSIONS:
•MENTAL: Talk with me. She's got gifts that would interact with that/potentially block it.
•MIMICRY: Go for it!
•VIOLENCE: Go for it!
•MAGIC: Go for it!
•DEBATE: Go for it!
•OTHER / NOTES: As of April, her handgun is a non-damaging weapon: it does no injury and cannot kill. It will instead knock you the fuck out.

Warden Post
Character Journal:
Status: Warden
Pairing Information:
Saga will see her role as a warden a little more officially than most, seeing her inmate as an assignment and a 'case' file to assemble and work through to help. This isn't to say she won't have empathy and sympathy, but she's definitely a puzzle solver by nature and that's going to be a big part in how she helps someone: figuring out what needs to be done, what pieces are missing, what pain needs to be addressed, to progress the 'case'. As for how she'll engage her inmate, she'll see this as a way to get them out of here, a case that she's solving WITH them and FOR them and she's going to try and make them see why it makes sense to do this even if it isn't fun along the way.
Strength-wise, she's very good at figuring people out, she's brave, she's thoughtful, she's a very warm and loving person who helped to temper her hard-case partner, and she's someone who tries to work with people and find middle ground instead of immediately setting herself up against them even though she is willing to and able to stand on her own if she has to. She's a quick learner and very observant, the kind who's willing to accept whatever paradigm she needs to and work in it. She's naturally curious and willing to experiment, willing to consider new avenues and new information without pride or 'this is too weird, it CAN'T be true' getting in the way, and she just Wants To Know a lot of the time. Not much shakes her, accordingly; she just assimilates information and moves on.
Weakness-wise, she can be stubborn and when she has a non-negotiable it is NON-NEGOTIABLE, for all that they're few and far between. She does *have* insecurities about herself, specifically about her role as a mother and a partner given her love of her job and her willingness to go out on cases away from them and if someone wants to dig in, there they are. She's sometimes a little *too* willing to dive into the thick of it and her ability to see has sometimes had her wander off the beaten path and into danger where others didn't think to go. Further, that curiosity can sometimes be a little much, such to where she's got to know everything about everything and that tendency to want to connect the threads and put ideas into neat little boxes can backfire when she doesn't realize she's going down a bad path; it took her way too long to figure out that the Cult of the Tree were the good guys doing the 'clean up' against the Taken and the Dark Presence's minions while Alan was away and the government couldn't/wouldn't help. Also her 'helpful' puzzle solver nature can make her appear cold sometimes when she's just trying to figure things out to take action.
She'd do best with someone who's evasive and difficult, who needs a no nonsense personality paired with the ability to sympathize. Someone who's got a complicated story and a complicated problem would definitely be good for her; she's all about doing that work.
A simple 'I'm an asshole because I like being an asshole' and/or monster type inmate wouldn't do as well with her. She'd feel like their keeper and it'd lead to a lot of frustration on both sides with her looking for motives and issues that just aren't there. It could work but it wouldn't be her strongest pairing without other circumstances.
